KU Tickets

We just got the annual Williams Fund request for money and with the offer to sell us tickets.  The tier 1 Men's tickets are just $ 1,600 each for season tickets.  That is about $100 a game.  Just to be an equal opportunity fan, the Women's season tickets are less for all the games than one of the Men's games.  I'll bet I can get better seating there too.

I am very excited about the Big XII this year.  It should be a great race to see who can end the KU streak of 10 Championship Seasons.  I think there have been a couple of teams that were real close and one that tied but in the end the Hawks are pretty hard to beat.  They have loaded and re-loaded year after year and this year is no exception.  In addition to the players they carried over from last year they have a new crop of shooters and players that should be great.  Just in time for a new crop of ball handlers to take over, the point guard that everyone loved to hate left and it should be fun to watch.  In case you don't know, Perry Ellis and Wayne Selden are a pretty darned good core to build on and I wanted to use their names as the kind of people that came back for a another year.

The only thing I hate about Men's Basketball here in Kansas is that every time an NBA Coach leaves, the pundits always bring up Bill Self's name as a prospect to replace them.  If anyone was alive a couple of years back, if all the money in Oklahoma couldn't entice him to leave, he is pretty much going to stay where he is.  T-Boone Pickens threw enough money at OK State to build a new stadium and hire God if he wanted to coach there.  I have it on good authority that when he found out that Bill Self was the first choice, God turned the offer down.

Oh well, back to the coal mine.
